. . . literally. my mom made this holiday card using ME as the model. i didn't even mind posing because i got a stinky new bone as a reward. i've already been sent to paris, ireland, all over the u.s. and one nice lady bought 50 of me to send to her favorite people on her list !

ruby.

this is ruby. she works at the SOCIETY OF ARTS AND CRAFTS in boston. my mom is part of the cup show there that opens in november. we went to visit the gallery last month. everyone there was so nice, even ruby the chocolate lab.

the buffet is now closed.

here in vermont, they throw perfectly edible food outside on the ground for NO GOOD reason. they call it "compost." i call it a "24 hour buffet." i was feasting on yummy morsels at my leisure, until my mom wondered why i was getting chunky and she followed me out there. darn. she put a stop to that. but it was good while it lasted.

pico + me.

finally we are in vermont for the month of september. i LIVE for this month. i get to run wild and come and go as i please. plus there are so many fun rodents to chase and lots of good smells. AND i get to see my cousin, pico. is it just me, or is his tongue getting longer? i like to keep my distance. i don't like being licked.

camp withdrawals.

i've been at camp corrie for 2 weeks (my mom took this picture of me on our way home). i ate SO much sausage and bacon i can hardly think ! mom was NOT happy with the couple of pounds i gained. she said that if i don't lose the weight in a few weeks, i wouldn't be allowed on the plane to vermont next month. drag. i heart vermont. so, i guess it's vegetables and brown rice from now on. not that i even have a choice. that is ALL my parents ever eat. yuck. i miss camp already.

cinco de ME, oh.

yep. today is my birthday. i'm FIVE ! of course my mom made me POSE before i got to eat my cake. i tried to look as cute as i could fast, to get it over with quickly. hey is it just me, or does my cake get smaller and smaller every year ? weird. oh well, bon appetit.

big bully.

my mom bought me the BIGGEST bully stick i ever did see. she likes to keep me busy at the studio so i don't bother her so much. i'm just trying to eat this as fast as i can because hairy potter is coming back next week and i know he'll want to "borrow" my stick. but it's a lot of work and i think i fell asleep for a minute.

my mom told me we were going to the "happiest place on earth" for the memorial day weekend. naturally i thought we were headed to disneyland ! so you can imagine my dismay when we stopped in fresno and never went any further. i was bummed. but it was fun anyway to see my aunts and grandmama and cousins. plus i got to eat a LOT of meat.

YAY, i WON the freaky dog people smile contest with this photo. the picture was taken at camp corrie's last summer. who wouldn't be smiling ? i had just eaten short ribs + lamb and was rolling around the dirt in the sunshine. of course i'd say "cheese." oooooooooh... i could really go for some manchego right about now.

play ball ?

everyday, harry potter leaves a toy in my bed and steals the treasure that i've hidden under my blanket (usually i hide a bully stick that i'm saving, or my beanie baby pig). today he left me a football. it squeaks, which i like, but it doesn't taste very good, AND he left for tahoe so i have no one to hike it to. drag.

rainy days on wednesdays always get me down.

to grandmother's house i went.

i LOVE visiting my grandma's house. there, i have a HUGE stash of toys and i love every single one of them. my mom left me there when she went down to LA last week. i got to sleep in the bed with my grandma . . . though she wouldn't let me sleep under the covers at her feet because she thought i would stop breathing (not because of the foot smell but because of the lack of air down there) . . . so she kept pulling me up to put my head on the pillow next to hers.

my mom had to model some socks for a japanese catalog and she decided to sneak me into the photo shoot. it was fine, as long as i wasn't the one who had to wear the socks. i draw the line at hats, ears, and horns . . . oh, and bat wings.

it's a new year.

one of my mom's new year's resolutions is to relax more and to not work so rigorously everyday. i am loving this. my dad jokes that my mom has never even sat on the couch before ! but she does NOW. we hang out on the couch now and she rubs my belly and she takes me for longer walks on the beach and she sleeps more and she seems nicer. i think this is going to be a really good year.
